We oppose the city of Monmouth Oregon's proposed land swap that would permanently convert productive farmland into medium-density housing while placing a large residential development in the middle of active agricultural land.
We are concerned about increased traffic, inadequate road and stormwater infrastructure, impacts on schools and public services, and conflicts with surrounding farming operations.
We question the need for the swap given existing buildable land within the Urban Growth Boundary and feel the process is lacking transparency and sufficient public engagement.
